ABOUT US

NEMO Architects is an architectural and design practice based in Helsinki, founded in 2020 by the designer duo Maria Klemetti Laine and Jussi Laine.
As an independent studio, we exist to improve daily life with beautiful and sustainable designs that age with grace.
Challenging the role of architecture, the Latin word “nemo” “no one” reflects our approach to design—centring it around the user and in the everyday environment.
Endlessly ambitious to finding new solutions together, we actively engage and work with architects, designers, artists and other social actors.
As an international and multidisciplinary studio, our projects range from large urban areas to small-scale objects, interiors, exhibitions, buildings and urban planning, with people at the heart of what we do.In addition to design work, we teach at Aalto University and participate in public dialogue about the built environment.
