A Baltic Sea Day installation was made for Durat and the John Nurminen Foundation in the Esplanadi park during the Design Helsinki.
The focus of the collaboration was responsibility and sustainable development in design: John Nurminen's foundation protects the Baltic Sea and Durat composite is a Finnish circular economy innovation. The building is a pilot for Durat’s future exhibitions and an excellent example of circular economy design.
The modular design of the structure allows for various configurations, as the parts can be attached in multiple ways.
The installation is made entirely of full-size Durat boards, which can also be sold and used as is for furniture production. Additionally, the color scheme of the structure can be easily customized by replacing the boards as needed.
